Although Kevin Lane was raised among the criminal underworld and had a history of using his fists, he is still firm to deny ever killing anybody. The Crowns case is based soley off of speculation and a fingerprint found on a bin liner. Kevin was never picked out on any identification parades, never directly linked forensically, and had no link to the victim.
The main officer in Kevin's case was DC Spackman a man who had earlier arrested Kevin on an unrelated matter and told him, "one day he'd have him". Spackman has since been convicted of corruption and jailed for four years. He was the epicentre of Kevin's case. He dealt with crucial witnesses, bank transactions, and exhibits. Lying on oath, trying to prevent a WPC from giving her evidence (because it went against the Crown's case) and making false statements are just a few of his main traits.
